Board of Directors to the SCSRM JPA are selected by each district’s Superintendent or his/her designee. The Board meets at least two times annually, normally in October and May. The Executive Committee members are elected by the Board at their May meeting.
Executive Committee meets monthly, usually on the second Friday at 9:00 a.m. The members of this Committee consist of nine members, four serve as officers: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Five additional members are elected to complete the slate. The Executive Committee members are responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day business of SCSRM and to exercise those powers and have such authority as delegated to it by the Board of Directors.
Risk Control Committee (RCC) was formed as a subcommittee by the SCSRM Executive Committee and members of the RCC are also selected by their respective school district. This group meets on a quarterly basis.
Southern California Schools Risk Management (SCSRM) JPA hosts a wide-range of training seminars and workshops. These trainings have been designed to provide liability and workers’ compensation solutions to our members. We have broken the trainings into three categories:
Safety Academy – Target Audience – All levels of Safety Professionals
Safety Academy workshops are primarily “Train-the-Trainer” and are designed for M&O, Food Services, or Safety personnel. It may be the responsibility of this group for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for your employees and students; therefore the workshops available through the Safety Academy will provide the tools necessary to achieve it.Learning Institute - Target Audience – Risk Managers, Site Administrators, or Directors
The Learning Institute seminars are for those individuals who are involved in property, liability, workers’ compensation and loss prevention. The types of topics that have been presented for this target audience is “Anatomy of an Accident,” “Diversity in the Workplace” and “Fair Employment Housing Act (FEHA).”
Leaders Academy – Target Audience - Superintendents/Cabinet, Chief Business Officials
The individuals who attend these workshops are the policy makers and who are ultimately responsible to ensure the conduct and safety of all employees and students. The Leaders Academy topics are designed to enhance organizational effectiveness as well as generating creative and innovative solutions.
